Wood Turning

Sustainability and the environment - Don't burn it, enjoy it.

The timber I use for wood turning is mainly British hardwood such as Yew, Ash, Elm and Sycamore (often from the Yorkshire Dales & occasionally European) from either managed woodlands or from windfall at the end of a trees life. Managed woodland ensures that trees and the environment they create are healthy and sustainable for the future.
It does mean that there are costs involved throughout this chain.
Each piece I make is a unique, one-off piece of functional art.
By owning a piece of my work you are supporting this sustainable, traditional process and turning a valuable resource into a beautiful addition to your home.

I never use tropical hardwood.

Photography

Capturing our world

I have worked as professional photographer for many years, working for business clients to produce the photography they need for their websites and printed material.

I have now started working through the back library of my own work to sell as prints or framed wall-art.
Living and working in the Yorkshire Dales & Norther England is often reflected in my photography, celebrating the environment we are lucky to live within.
